Boonah Writers Festival

30 April - 1 May 2022

Presented by the Boonah and District Cultural Foundation Inc.

About the Festival

The Boonah Writers Festival is produced by local volunteer organization Boonah & District Cultural Foundation Inc.

It is held annually on the Saturday & Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend in May.

Now in its fifth year, it is already making its mark on the Writers Festival calendar. Known for its friendly atmosphere and practical advice from experienced professionals, the festival allows participants to attend every workshop in our program. This festival is about experienced and emerging writers refining their craft.

Set in the spectacular Scenic Rim with its mountain range backdrop, the friendly country town of Boonah is the ideal location for this distinctive Writers Festival.  See map below.

The Writers Festival Dinner on the Saturday night is a highlight.  It is a 2-course dinner with vegetarian and gluten-free options. The bar will be open. (All dietary requirements can be catered for – just let us know). Participants and presenters have a chance to meet and chat, network and make new friends.

Attending presenters and registrants may display and sell their books during the Festival, free of commission charges.  Tables in a display area will be provided.

According to past participants, the Boonah Writers Festival is “inspirational”!
